A passionate physical connection is a vital part of any thriving relationship. These articles will deal with using our five senses to put some passion back into our lovemaking. First I am going to cover a few science things that give everyone equal footing on understanding why our senses are so much a part of sex. Humans primarily use our 5 senses to observe and translate the world around us. We then use those same senses to communicate our understanding of that world back out to those around us. Good sex is all about communication through the universal language of the body and its associated senses. Our 5 senses are important to engage in seduction and lovemaking as it brings depth and dimension to the experience for both partners. One reason that it is important to stimulate all of the senses is that our partner may or may not have the same learning language as our own.
Each one of us has a primary and secondary learning style. The styles are as follows: Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic. Visual people learn by watching something. Auditory people like to use sound to convey information as well as learn new things. Kinesthetic people learn by doing, through physical action. These learning styles are often paired with a secondary style to help process information more thoroughly. Humans are capable of using all three together, though we often show a preference for a primary style. How does this relate to passion and lovemaking? Good question. If one of the partners is a visual processor, then location and lighting will have a significant impact on the mood of that person, as will clutter and organization. The same goes for an auditory person, except that sounds will enhance or detract from the mood of the scene for them. Finally, kinesthetic people need to be stimulated via the touch receptors by way of fabrics, lotions and other tactile contact to ramp up their arousal. The knowledge of these different ways of processing can lead us to better lovemaking by setting the scene and engaging each of the 5 senses in a way that each partner will find the most arousing.

Today, we are going to cover the Visual aspect of passion. Vision is likely the most common method we as humans process and relate to the world in which we live. Our world is full of TVs and movies, signs and signals, all of which rely on sight as a primary method of communication. Sometimes those signs and signals cause intense reactions. Most people have the experience of someone crossing their path that is stunningly beautiful to them. A chance sighting such as this can cause the heart to race and the skin to perspire. These types of reactions can be very strong from nothing more than the mere sight of another person, and often the clothes we wear convey an outward symbol of who we are as people, and how we want others to relate to us. The phrase "Clothes make the man" comes to mind here, and in no place do clothes convey a stronger message than in the arena of sensuality. When a woman slips into lingerie that she knows will excite her partner, she is relying on vision to incite that response. The lights turned down low (but not off) or candles lit in one's bedroom allows for soft lighting. Soft lighting is flattering to most of us, and also sets a relaxed mood. Also the sight of some naked flesh excites all people, but visual people even more so. It is often both arousing and distracting to see a glimpse of exposed flesh on your lover especially when the fruit is forbidden for reasons of time or place.
Nevertheless, by revealing a bit of flesh to your lover throughout the day you give them an image that will often linger in their minds, creating a mounting desire for you over the course of the day. If that desire is combined with a clean bedroom, the bed made, soft lighting, and a bit of lingerie for ladies or a silk robe for men, then the visual is set for seduction. Not that this is the only scene that can be set visually, just an example. Many people enjoy the thought and sight of getting dressed up in sexy costumes and being watched by their lover as the parade around; some even like to go out on the town in these costumes. I always think of Halloween and how many sexy pirates and princesses are out and about. The visual scene is but one part of the entire sensual seduction that can happen, but it is a vital and an often-neglected sense that should be stimulated. To drive the point home a bit further, if one doesn't think setting the visual scene is important to lovemaking, remember the girls at Gentlemen's clubs make a living on this one sense alone as do the many actors and producers of TV shows and movies. Being aware and stimulating the visual sense is a great way to connect with one's partner and set the mood for passion.
